Windows 10: lost everything

Turned pc on and bang lost everything.win ten was asking for me to buy.
security license said expired.
10 manager said buy.
what the heck happened?

Hi Janette, this is happening much too often at the moment, I think you are logged into a temporary account . . .

Please open Windows File Explorer

Navigate to C:\Users

Do you see your old user profile

Open that folder and check inside Pictures, Documents . . . etc. and see if your files are there

If your files are there:

Create a new user profile with Admin privileges

Log into the new user profile

Copy all your data from the old profile to the new profile (Documents Library, Pictures Library . . . etc.)

Oh, I should have anticipated that!

No, my computer has a reset button besides the power button. The reset button I'm told is much friendlier when your system freezes and you have to reboot. It alleviates Operating System corruption I'm told. Yes.

 

Did you use the Windows 10 Developer Preview?

 

Interesting.. which build were you using?? Did you upgrade from a previous build or did you perform a clean install?? Oh and what are your PC specs??

How did you "Lose everything" -- could you access any HDD's.

I'm afraid I just Don't believe this -- smacks a bit of "Troll" here -- what "Security License" was W10 telling you to buy ????.

People on this Forum are MORE than willing to help -- Windows - especially new releases like W10 latest builds will have all sorts of bugs but that is most DEFINITELY not one of them.

That's a serious malware you got there. Where did you get your Win 10 and what version?
Win 10 itself is Free right now and will be free (as upgrade) later on when it is released. Can you give us more details?

 

A screenshot or picture of the screen taken from a phone etc would be helpful here if possible.

I too believe this is a troll it's to aggressive to be any thing windows would do.
Hdd working trying fresh install with windows 8 disk 64 bit if that doesn't work will try installing 32bit version.
using kaspersky 2014 security.
