  2. How to get back Administrator account on Windows 10?

    Original title:- Admin Account

For some reason I do not have access to my Admin account.

I have upgraded to Window 10. Sometime ago we were talked into changing to something called sharing, some kind of inter-office communications and I think we lost our Admin control when that happen. We no longer use the computer tech that set it up. I
would like to get back control of our Admin account.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

  3. Windows 10 Education: Can't access my Local Disk C: and no longer an Admin.

Hello, currently I am having problems trying to get my full admin control back on Windows 10 Education. I didn't have full control before but was still able to run admin stuff and access my local disk and such. After messing around with the "Advanced Sharing"
I lost all admin rights and can no longer access my Local Disk C: I have looked up ways on the official Microsoft support website but found no solution.

    - I tried to factory reset to try and change the settings back to default but it won't let me.

    - I then tried to do it through windows defender but that also wouldn't let me.

    - I then found out about the "Shift-Restart" but there is no option to factory reset when I do that.

    - I then attempted to launch "Safe Mode" but once I log in it shows a grey screen and only loads the mouse.

pretty much have no access to anything that is admin controlled and I don't know how to get it back without being an admin and I can't change back to be an admin since I don't have access.

    Welcome to the Ten Forums,

Are you able to reach Command Prompt Admin in the start menu. If yes, open it in admin mode and run this command line (System File Check): sfc /SCANNOW
    Wait for the result.
Otherwise, you can recover Admin privileges the way its shown in the screenshot. Do it for administrator and computer name. You must first find the name (check name: The Desktop Name). If you already run Win 3.1 you should know, like me, how to do it.

You must save and exit each time before applying changes. Got an issue like this one in an Insider Build 5 mounts ago.

Now that you have an activation or an open pass to Win Ten, you can also save time and build an ISO image to clean install Win Ten. I'm saying that because it seems that you have serious problems to deal with.

  6. Right click on start menu and try to open it in admin mode. It is also in start menu under all apps in Windows System. Right click on it to open it in admin mode. If it still not working, then you must work on admin privileges and recover them. That's what you should read on an healthy computer: Screenshot

Can you boot into safe mode? From the login screen, before you log in, click the power icon in lower right corner, hold down shift key while clicking on restart. That should boot into the recovery environment and in those menu you can restart in safe mode. In safe mode, if there are no other administrator accounts on the computer, the built-in Administrator account will be available for log in and you can change your user account to administrator or create a new account with administrator privileges.

Really sounds like you are going to have to do a clean install from a Windows 10 install USB/DVD, though. If you use a Macrium Reflect Free rescue disk to save an image of your current installation, you will at least be able to mount that image later to retrieve your data files.
