Windows 10: Lost in the MS Store

After recently buying a reconditioned machine with Win10 headed toward upgrading to Win 11, I discovered that despite my old running both win 10&11, this one wouldn't let me download the game software.So...I went to the MS store looking for Blackjack and Poker said to be your most popular pc downloadsAt the MS store it meant sifting through thousands of games to find them, and the upper right hand search was useless because it searched the whole internet instead of the MS store.I decided to chat with support in the bottom right corner... big mistake. It was either a confused A.I. or some

Lost default photo viewer after profile rebuild

Thanks Brink. I've tried those steps before i started searching Google. After the profile rebuild i don't have the Photo app listed to choose to make it default in either the system settings for default apps or the Open With option.

I can't even find it doing a search. Seems to have been removed somehow with the profile rebuild, which doesn't make sense.

Might be helpful to list what i've done I've done the open with check, the choose default program in the system menu, tried that in device manager default programs also. I've checked the programs and features Turn windows features on/off and it's not listed there (never thought it was but that was a suggestion), searched the MS Store, it's not listed there either.

I don't like playing in the registry unless i have defined steps and haven't found anything for this yet, just the Win7 version like in my OP.

 

i lost my ms apps when trying to fix the ms store?

as you can see i have lost the icon for ms apps and can't open them because i tried a command in windows PowerShell (Get-AppXPackage | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"} ) that should have fixed ms store not installing apps, and im using windows 10.

Hi Susan,

It seems that the issue is with the Window Store app cache. We suggest that you clear Store cache by following these steps:

• Right-click the Start button and choose Run.
• In the Run window, type in wsreset.exe and click OK.
  
  An empty command prompt window will open up.
• When the reset is complete, this window will close and the Store window will open.

Let us know how it goes after performing the suggested troubleshooting steps.
