Windows 10: Lost Microsoft Edge After Windows 11 Reset; Inplace ISO Install Now Fails

I had no Internet connectivity under Windows 11 Professional and had no idea why. I attempted a Windows 11 Reset thinking that would fix the issue. After the reset completed, I lost all installed programs and still had no Internet. Turning off my router then powering it back on restored my Internet. A Windows 11 reset was not needed at all. However, after the Windows 11 reset complete, I lost all of my installed programs. I even lost Microsoft Edge. A google search told me that an ISO download of Windows 11 followed by an in-place update would fix this issue of Microsoft Edge missing.

• Are you facing this issue after any recent update?
• Have you installed any third party security application?

and check if it helps.

and check if it helps as it stores the forms, passwords, and sites you've visited.

Microsoft Edge bottom half cut off on Windows 10

We can try the following ways:

1. I suggest we clear the browsing history and check if the issue persist.
   

Please follow the steps:

Open Microsoft Edge.

Click on “...” (… symbol) on the top right corner of the browser.

Select Settings from the drop down menu.

Click on Choose what to clear under Clear browsing data.

Check the Cookies and saved website data (and any other data you want to clear) and click on Clear button.

1. Enable Inprivate Browing feature of Edge.
   

We can refer to Enable Private Browsing in IE 11 and Microsoft Edge

1. Try to reset Windows Edge. Go to Settings->App->Apps and features->Windows Edge->Advanced options->Reset.
   

1. Use Windows Compatibility List.
   

Open "Windows Edge".

Type "about:flags".

Click "Enter".

Check "Use Windows Compatibility List".

Restart the computer.

1. Try to update Windows updates.
   
2. Logon the laptop with another computer account, if we still have this problem, try reinstalling the operating system.
   

 

Windows Updates failed to instal

I just did step one and they have just all installed.... thank you so much.... it was quite frustrating having that update window pop up every 5 minutes and failing to instal every time
