Windows 10: Lost my desktop while removing files to free up storage space

Hello, Randy0043 here I have another issue. In March I was constantlygetting a notification from Microsoft tha my c:\ was full and I needed to free up space so I noticed that there was an old windows file and some other files that I didnt recognize so I tried to remove them and send to the recycle bin. In doing this I somehow removed my desktop. I spent night and day for a week trying to find it and found nothing. And so I haven't tried to do anything since. I get a message that follows "desktop is unavailable if the location is on this PC make sure the device or drive is connected or the disc is loaded or inserted and try again". Last night I went to support and had a chat session and I did not get a case number. Sham on me. But the tech. di a remote session and supposedly fixed the problem. back up.. About two weeks I found the desktop in one drive. I think. I told him that info. And when I found it I tried to restore the files. I must have done something because when I logged in last night I was getting a message "the files have been restored temporarily you need to do something with the file history then do something else" I tried to tell the tech. this . he thought he had repaired the prob. but did not Please help. This is a 2014 Microsoft Surface Pro had win8.1 , now win10 pro. thank youall

How to remove a bad drive in Windows 10 storage spaces pool

Could someone list the steps involved in replacing a bad drive from a Windows 10 storage spaces pool? I cannot find any info on the Microsoft support site that is specific to Windows 10. Also, could you list the steps to remove a 'good' drive and replace
it with another drive if the process is different?

 

windows 10 deleted my desktop files

Step 1 - I upgraded to Win 10 and lost all my files on Desktop.

Step 2 - Found the files in Network - USers- Desktop

copied all files again to desktop.

Step 3- Restarted my machine again and lost desktop files again.

Step 4 - As suggested did the following as listed below but dont find my files.

• Press “Windows + E”, open This PC/Computer
• Open Local Disc C, open Windows.old
• Click on Users, select your User name
• Go to desktop folder

Cant find my files. Why is Win 10 deleted files again and again from Desktop ?.

1. Are you receiving this error when you click on any file or shortcuts in your system?
   
2. Do you have any other user account on your system?
   

For better understanding, you are also requested to
include a screen shot of that window in your reply.

Method A: Suggest you to refer to the steps provided by ‘DaveM121’ from this thread to check if that helps.

As you have the back-up storage in disc and as you do not have the disc drive on the computer, you may want to connect an external disc drive to the computer and then use the disc to see if that helps.

Method B: If the issue persists and if you do not have another user account to test then, you can

create a new user account and check if that helps.
