Windows 10: Lost my User Profile and now can't make a new one nor recovery my old one

I recently noticed that one of the user profiles on my Windows 10 Home PC has disappeared from the sign-in screen as i was clearing profile files on my pc. However, I can still see the profile intact in my user files. I've tried creating a new user account, but I can't sign into that either. The new account just doesn't appear on the sign-in screen despite being visible in user settings on the computer.Upon checking my SSD, I see the old user profile, but it's not present on my hard drive though I'm unsure if it was there previously. I've freed up space on my SSD, but the issue persists.Coul

Lost User Account

I understand the inconvenience you are facing with user accounts, we will help you to resolve this issue.



I would like to inform that there can be only one Microsoft user account on one device, and that might be the reason you are unable to change the email address for the user account.



I suggest you to create a new account (Local account) on your computer and transfer the content to newly created user account.



Step 1: Creating a new user account

• Type cmd in the Search bar form the desktop.
• Now, Right-click on cmd.exe from the result and select Run As Administrator.
  
• User Account Control or UAC dialog box will appear, click on Yes.
  
• Type net user username password /add
  
  [Replace ‘username’ and ‘password’ with your desired username and password]
  

Step 2. Copying old files to newly created User Profile

• Go to C:\Users\(Your-Corrupted-Profile-Name)\ (L: file:///C:/Users/(Your-Corrupted-Profile-Name)/)
  
• Copy all files except three files:

• 
  NtUser.dat
  
• 
  NtUser.ini
  
• 
  NtUser.log
  

3. Go to C:\Users\(New-User-Profile-name)\ (L: file:///C:/Users/(New-User-Profile-name)/)

4. Paste all those copied files here.

New User Profile

System Restore does NOT affect user data. If I was in your position I would take these steps:

1. Install System Restore Explorer. It lets you access user data that
   IS actually contained in restore points but does not get restored by the restore mechanism.

2. Treat this event as an incentive to set up a robust backup scheme. Important data must at all times be stored on at least two independent media.
