Windows 10: Lost Printer After Critical Update

An update was put out and it caused me to lose the ability to use my printer. It started with issues at work on my Windows 10 computer. My bosses were having issues also. And then when I tried to print from my home computer, it did the same thing.

At home, I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer. I searched for updates for the printer drivers and it said I had the latest drivers. I could print from the properties, but could not print a document.

I finally went to system restore and saw the critical update. After I restored my computer to before the update, the printer started working like it was supposed to.

Not a question. Just trying to help others with this problem. I have already contacted Microsoft with this issue so that their technicians can look into it.

I suggest you to try the below and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to update the drivers for printer and check.

• 
  Right click on the Start button from the desktop and select
  Device Manager.
  
• 
  Locate and expand Print queue.
  
• 
  Right-click on the printer driver
  that is listed and click Update driver software.
  

Step 2: I suggest you to run the printer troubleshooter from
“Fix printer problems”
and then check if this fixes the issue.

What and all steps have you tried so far?

Restart the computer and check.

Also, check for Windows updates.

I suggest you to run the Printer Troubleshooter and check if it helps.

  In Search window type Troubleshooting and click on it to open it.

  Click on Hardware and Sound.
  
• 
  Then click on Printer to run the troubleshooter. Follow onscreen steps.
