Windows 10: lost product key and window store says i can't buy this version of windows 10

My last computer crashed CPU and had to get a new motherboard and everything. Of course windows can't find the product key from the bios on the new board and it's lost. When I went through windows to go to store to buy a new product code it says I can't buy this version of windows 10. error code 0x8000FFFF. Anyone have an idea on how I can get windows 10 to activate? do I need to buy a USB version and do a reinstall?
