Windows 10: lost some apps and app setting and all files(need VERY urgent help)

So hey I need a very urgent help,

just now I wanted to enable Cortana in my Windows 10 and I did it by following the following method-

1. win+r then search rededit
2. Went to here Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Search
3. double click AllowCortana
4. set the value from 0 to 1
5. click ok and restart

Then when the laptop was restarted I was shocked to see that the whole windows was resetted. Lost all the folders, files, my educational files, app settings, some apps like whatsapp web is disappeared. The laptop also had my brother's and my dad's legal files They'll KILL me if I can't find them as soon as possible.

Please help

lost my files,settings and apps by automatic update


Hi friends, i was using Windows 10 Enterprise . And from automatic update, i lost my most important files . But , i have now recovered them . Now, the problem is that only two apps i.e. Cortana and Microsoft Edge are coming . And i can't find store,outlook,news and other apps etc . Please tell me how can i find those apps . Help me please .

How to set Microsoft Photos App as default

• Navigate to Start>Settings>System.
• In the left pane, click on Default Apps.
• In the right pane, click on Choose default apps by file type.
• Set the default App to open .jpg files and check for status.

Setting defaults by app

I need help to understand how do set ALL supported file formats to associated app.
In Settings > Default Apps > Defaults by app > APP > Manage I get overlong list of file formats, most of them unassociated.
I don't find any method how to select them all and assign them to this App. In Windows 8.x it worked this way I have detailed list with sorting and multiselect capabilities. That list in Windows 10 is dummy and unable to assign other way than selecting App from drobdown for each format. Is that smarter list from Windows 8 really gone?
