  1. Lost storage in my c drive after reset

Hello, so when going through the steps that I received on how to properly do a reset when I got to the part in the Installation Media where I had to delete my drives and partitions I got nervous after it said that if I deleted that particular drive which controlled my PC it may not work. So I let the two big drives for the system and restore, everything worked out the instructions given were great and would have worked if I had followed ALL of them. Now my c drive storage is full. I am not able to download apps anything. Is there a way I can fix that or do I have to do a clean install to fix the mess I made? I've tried researching ways to clean my c drive, I've already done the storage sense but was only able to get enough to get my office 365 on my pc. Every site I find wants me to purchase a program to fix it?

    Thank you

    :)

  2. Hard Drive Storage

I have a 500Gb Hard Drive, running Windows 10 Pro version 1909. My c drive is nearly full, I have checked every area on the pc and nothing adds up to the 486Gb I'm supposed to have available. I have gone to Settings > System > Storage - it shows that 401Gb
is being taken up by Apps and features but when I click on this and show the list of installed apps with their sizes, I have added up the entire list and it comes to 25Gb total. It doesn't show what's eating up the rest of the 400Gb of space. I have deleted
everything I can and have only been able to free up 11Gb so far so my c drive is still showing red. At this point is the only other step to reload the pc, or does anyone have any suggestions as to what it might be and how to fix?

    Thanks,

    Heather

  3. Resetting Computer with Multiple Hard Drives?

    Hey all,

Just a quick question. My computer has three hard drives:

    • An 128GB SSD as C:\ for Windows 10 and essential applications (Visual Studio, Office, etc)
    • An 700GB SSD as D:\ for nonessential applications and games
    • A 2TB platter HDD as E:\ for general file storage.
My computer has been running a bit weird lately (especially since I had a RAM stick go bad about a month ago) and so I just want to reset the C drive. My intention is to use the following steps:

    • Settings > Update & Security > Recovery
    • Click Get Started under Reset this PC
    • Click Remove Everything
    • Erase quicky (since I'm not trading this PC in)
So, my question is, if I do this will it format all three drives or will it only affect my C drive? I just want to know if I should disconnect my E drive before restoring my PC.

    Thanks in advance!

    Lost space of Pen Drive

    • Have you tried connecting to a different computer?
I suggest you to connect the USB flash drive to a different computer and check.

First back up all the data from your USB drive to another location.

I suggest you to connect the USB flash drive to a different computer and check.

Let us try the following steps, and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to refresh the drive letter and then try to rescan the drives that are connect to the computer and check.

    To refresh drive letter:

    • Open Computer Management (Local).
    • In the console tree, click Computer Management (Local), click
Storage, and then click Disk Management.
    • Click Action, and then click Refresh.
    • Once you have refreshed connect the new zip drive and to update hardware information, click Rescan Disks instead.
Step 2: For unallocated space on USB drive

    • Press the Windows key, and type Diskpart.

    • Click the result to open the DiskPart command prompt window.

    • In the command prompt window, type list disk and hit Enter.

    • The removable USB drive or hard disk will be shown under
      Disk 1.

    • Type in the following commands and hit Enter.
    select disk 1

    Clean

    create partition primary

    • The first command selects your removable USB drive.

    • The Clean command deletes all the current partitions present on the USB drive.

    • The Create primary partition creates a fresh partition and allocates all the unallocated space on this fresh partition.

    • Type Exit to close the command prompt window.

    • Unplug your USB drive and plug it back again.

    Hope it helps.

Let us know the status, we are glad to assist you further.
