Windows 10: Lost system restore point upon attempted recovery due to actory reset upon failed windows...

I have attempted a number of suggested pathways and can not seem to find a way to fix my issue.I had a failed windows 10 update my chip set is incompatible with windows 11 thus never upgraded that attempted a second time after failing over ten days ago unbeknownst to me. When it failed a second time it factory reset my computer. I had a system restore point from just before the second failed update attempt so I attempted a recovery through said restore point, but unfortunately it also failed. Upon that failure it deleted all existing system restore points as well. I have enough memory allo

  Why exactly you are trying to perform system reset? Are you getting any error code, when trying to perform system reset?
  
• 
  What is the make and model of your system?
  

I suggest you to try creating system restore point manually and check if the restore point is visible or not.

As you are also unable to perform system reset, I suggest you to try resetting system using windows 10 installation media and check if it helps.

How to delete inactive System Image Restore Points in System Restore

Windows 10 64-bit.
When I click "show more restore points" in System Restore I see a bunch of old "system image restore points" that were deleted in past and do not correspond to any currently active restore points. Clicking any of these old restore points, I simply get an error message saying they could not be found, and to select another restore point instead.I would like to delete these restore points listings but have been unable to do so.
So far, I have tried steps mentioned below without any luck :

Disk Cleanup through (C Properties
Disable System Protection (OFF and ON) in System Protection for OS (C
Disk Space Usage to minimum (slider button all the way to the left then 'Delete all restore points for this drive'),
Delete all shown Restore points in CCleaner (the problem ones do not show here),
Reset Windows Backup to Default in Windows 10 with 'Reset_Windows_Backup.bat' utility.

Any suggestions highly welcome.

 

System restore points are lost

I understand the frustration when Restore points are lost.

Restore points are saved until the disk space System Restore reserves is filled up. As new restore points are created, old ones are deleted. If you turn off system protection (the feature that creates restore points) on a disk, all restore points are deleted
from that disk. When you turn system protection back on, new restore points are created.

Perform steps mentioned below and see if it helps.

a: Press Windows key + X.

b: Then click Command prompt(Admin)

Type Vssadmin list shadowstorage
c: Take note of what the shadow storage allocation is on the drive you're having issues with.

d: Change the allocation by using the Vssadmin command, syntax:
vssadmin resize shadowstorage /On=C: /For=C: /Maxsize=1G (where Maxsize=the amount of disk space you've allocated to System Restore points. In my case it was 20 GB



e: In the case of the C: drive, the syntax would be VSSAdmin resize shadowstorage /On=C: /For=C: /Maxsize =20G, after increasing the size and rebooting my restore points were still intact and no longer being deleted.
