Windows 10: Lost Taskbar

I am on Build 15241.RS1-Release 160124-1059

This morning when I tried to log on the task bar at the start menu there were no icons but the window. I tried many times to start but nothing happened.

I went to the Google icon on the screen and opened it to MSN which worked fine. I can't use EDGE or IE11

I need assistance please with you ideas.

Taskbar resets to one row each time I reboot after Creators Update

I have only recently upgraded to windows Creator and suffered from losing the bottom row of the taskbar each time I restart windows.



I have tried lots of permutations 'supposed fixes' but my latest (might be different tomorrow!!) observations highlight the taskbar TOOLBARS:



- If I remove all Toolbars from the taskbar, Restart = NO rows are lost.

- With a toolbar applied to taskbar and taskbar locked Restart = NO rows are lost.

- With a toolbar applied to taskbar and taskbar NOT locked Restart = ONE row lost.



I also use a 3rd monitor with my laptop via a

XCSOURCE USB 3.0 To HDMI HD 1080P Video Cable Adapter Converter

with this there 'seems' to be an extra problem:

- With a toolbar applied to taskbar and taskbar locked Restart = ONE row lost.

 

Start button not working - Windows 10

I didn't lost the taskbar, and I didn't lost the icons, but I lost an icon out of all the shortcut icons in the taskbar.

If you have a default taskbar, you would have the Edge and Store icons immediately next to the start button in your taskbar. I add a few more shortcuts. They are all there except Edge, leaving an empty space where Edge supposed to be.

 

I have the feeling you were looking at the Start Menu screen in tablet mode.

At the taskbar, right side, there is an icon called Notification which is next to Time > click it > click Tablet mode.
Does that work ?

 

I did that but there are only 2 items

OPEN action center---does not open

Turn on quiet hours-- does not change

 

Run a system file check to look for corrupt files. It will try to do repair if any found.

Right click at Start button > click Command Prompt (Admin) > at the flashing prompt, copy/paste this.......
sfc /scannow

> press Enter.
It will take quite sometime.
When finished, it will give you one of the 3 reports...............(paraphrasing)
1. No integrity violation.
2. Found corrupt files and repair successful.
3. Found corrupt files but unable to repair.

If the report is #1, your solution lies elsewhere.
If the report is #2, check if your problems have been resolved.
If the report is #3, use this method................
In the same Command Prompt (Admin) windows, copy and paste this command...........

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

> press Enter.
Again it will take some time.
When finished, it will give you a report.

 

When I click the start button nothing happens

 

Right click at Start button.
Nothing ?

 

Do you have the search bar next to the Start button ?
If yes, does it work ?

Is your Insider Preview activated ?
