Windows 10: Lost two AMD HDMI audio formats on a HP G7 laptop win10 pro connected through 8.1 receiver

Lost two AMD HDMI audio formats on an HP G7 laptop win10 pro 64x connected through an 8.1 receiver but not an issue on the same laptop running win7 64x.The four audio formats were, DTS audio, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, and Dolby TrueHD, the first two still showas installed but the last two are gone from the listed supported formats. I had been using Bluray and DVD player software to play Bluray, DVD disks, and files.The connected display is a TCL Roku 4k tv with HDR10 series 4 43" s435, laptop internal display 1600x900external 1920x1080.

HDMI not connecting audio

Hello,

When I connect my laptop to another device (TV, projector), the visual connects fine, but the audio comes out of the laptop, rather than the external device. This happens on every device, regardless of cord or receiver.

All of my audio driver say they are fully updated. The list is just Realtek Audio and my phone's handsfree. The HDMI is not available as a playback device for audio.

I am on an Inspiron running the latest Windows 10.

 

SSD Upgrade Question regarding HP 255 G7 Laptop

I'm a little confused. According to the spec: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product...c06194380#AbT5 I'd assume that the laptop can use either SATA or NVME M.2 drives.

The drive that you list is a SATA one.

The only M.2 drives that Crucial offers for the HP 255 G7 are SATA. Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | hp - compaq | hp business notebooks | HP 255 G7 (AMD Ryzen) | Crucial.com

An NVME PCI-E X4 drive would be preferred for best performance. I'm a little worried that Crucial doesn't offer any NVME drives.

 

Surface Pro 3 - No HDMI Audio Output

I’ve solved this by buying an Active minidisplay port to HDMI. I get sound through HDMI now.
