    Lost Windows 10 user password with no reset disk.


    Google shows me some options but I'm wary of downloading software I'm unfamiliar with like iSumsoft's Windows Password Refixer. Is there any easy way to reset my password? I have no options to answer security questions.

    Vista Password reset boot disk?

    Need a stupid disk to reset user passwords on vista machines...
    Have one for xp, can't find one for vista...

    Thank you. that did give me a better understanding of the "local" user account. However, my original goal was to accomplish the task of making a password reset disk for the 4 digit pin I use when I first power up my laptop. Isnt that what the password reset
    disk is for? I am having some problems and plan to use system restore to restore my system to a previous date. but not sure if I changed the pin before or after the restore point I plan to use. Wanted to make the password reset disk just in case.... before
    I do system restore to an earlier date. It was my understanding that was the purpose of the password reset disk. Or is it? I wanted a reset disk for the pin I use when powering up my laptop not my MS account. is that not the password the reset disk is meant
    to replace?

    I am clearer on the definition of a "local" user account... --One step forward... But on the reset disk ... two steps back. lol
