Windows 10: Lost Wireless panel and PC settings

I have Windows 10 Home edition and for some unknown reason today I suddenly had all these things happen:- In network connections I lost wireless popup side screen when I click or press enter on the wireless icon and when I use shift F10 and click "connect/disconnect" and sometimes clicking 'status' doesn't work either.- In start menu I lost "PC settings" when I click/enter on it it does nothing including Windows Update and Wireless settings."Search" is also not working either the search window does open when I click 'search' in start menu, but it won't let me put cursor or type text in se

Sorry to hear about the inconvenience caused.

We would suggest you to follow the below step to connect to wireless network devices:

• From the desktop press Windows flag key +R and type control and click ok.
• This will open control panel.
• Under Hardware and Sound, click Add a device, and then follow the instructions.

This will help you to connect to wireless network devices.

Yeah, thats not a solution she is interested in......I've suggested that course of action. Thanks though.

Just to clarify, I feel that there MUST be a step, or series of steps to turn off JUST the wireless notification sound. Thats what Im driving @ here.

 

Lost settings

To add an observation, Windows Update doesn't even show in the more-complete God Mode which gives a lot of shortcuts that are in the various items in Control Panel.
