Hey all, hope you're well. Just got a bit of something thats concerning me which I could use input on.Basically I keep getting the following:The start type of the Background Intelligent Transfer Service service was changed from auto start to demand start. The start type of the Background Intelligent Transfer Service service was changed from demand start to auto start. While I am aware these are pretty much harmless. What has me concerned is that since I installed the monthly update earlier this week. I noticed these events been logged in large quantities where as before the monthly update it was

  2. windows search crashing with event ID 7040

A couple of times a week my Search Index crashes with:

    Source: Event ID: Meaning:

    Search 7040 Found corrupt data

Search 7042 Service Windows Seach stopping because of corrupt data

    Search 1013 Service is stopped

Search 1008 Trying to remove old index-files

    Search 1010 Index-files successfully removed

Search 1004 Starting to rebuild new index

(The above is translated from my danish eventviewer - guess it makes more sence than copying the danish terms)

I've found several "solutions" for this - everyone one of them basicly suggesting "rebuild index". Not that helpfull Lots of event ID 7040 logs after monthly June update :)

What I need is a tool / way to troubleshoot Windows Indexing, so I can see which objects / files is the cause of my index going corrupt.

Does anyone know of such a tool - or other helpfull suggestions?

Where can I get a list of event log id's?

Like the man said: you have to check TechNet on an ID by ID basis. I've often wished for the galactic encylopedia of event IDs myself, and for registry keys, too, while we're wishing for the impossible. One step at a time, man, one step at a time...
    Best wishes,

Event viewer error with event id 10016

    Hello,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community forum.

I understand that you are getting an error “DistributedCOM 10016” in the event viewer logs.

    • Do you face any issues on the computer?
    • Have you made any recent changes to the computer?
This problem may occur if either of the following conditions is true:

    • A program with the class ID (CLSID) that appears in the message tries to start the COM component by using the DCOM infrastructure. However, the user does not have the required permissions to start the COM component.

    • The Network Service account does not have the correct permissions.

Event logs are special files that record significant events on your computer, such as when a user logs on to the computer or when a program encounters an error. Whenever these types of events occur, Windows records the event in
an event log that you can read by using Event Viewer. Advanced users might find the details in event logs helpful when troubleshooting problems with Windows and other programs.

If you do not have any issues with app or any other program I would suggest you to ignore it.

Keep us posted if you face any issues related to Windows in future. We will be glad to help you.
