Windows 10: loud hacked warning with pop up asking me to call Microsoft Security at 1-8777680361

Hi, Yesterday my wife was on Microsoft Edge when a loud warning about a virus with a pop-up window appeared. The window said to not shut off computer because it was locked and to call Microsoft Security at 1-877 768 0361. She did so and I don't know exactly what she did afterward but eventually she called me into the room and I spoke to the man on the phone. After hanging up on him because I refused to do what he suggested. I received several phone calls back supposedly originating in Winston-Salem NC. After blocking the first 3 of these I got tired of the constant new calls from the same loca

Windows 10 asks for the Security Warning?

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

As you are opening favorites from the Internet Explorer it might warn you while accessing websites.

If they are known websites, you may add those links as a trusted site and you will not get the warning.

To do so follow these steps.

• Press Win + R key on the keyboard and type inetcpl.cpl
  and hit Enter.
• Click Security Tab and click Trusted Sites.
• Click Add and add the website that you trust.

Pop up Windows Security Microsoft Edge

On my PC running Windows 10, I have a popup. A loud message:

do not shut down,

On the screen there is a Box has Windows Security in small font, typed above Microsoft Edge.

Below, the Microsoft Edge line, is

The server 000226 gq is asking for your user name and password



That server also reports "Suspicious activity..............................................................................

asks to call+1 888 334 0956

below there are 2 slots to fill in log on info and passwords



loud message asks not to shutdown the computer, to call +1 888-334-0956 (windows Security Toll free)

The PC is locked. (I used the key board to shut the message)

I have Norton Security and have run that after the first time this Pop up came.

 

Pop Up security warning

Good that you didn't click on anything and that you didn't call that number. That what you were seeing are fake alerts which try to trick you into calling some obscure companies who then will try to sell you their unneeded services/products.
