Windows 10: Loud pop before playing sound

I'm having problems with audio. Every time a sound plays, I hear a loud pop. This issue only occurs when I'm using my headphones. I think this is a driver or software issue but I don't know how to fix it. Any help? (I'm using Windows 10 Home v. 1903 on an HP Notebook 14-dk0022wm, if this helps.)

my Samsung ATIV S is making loud popping/cracking sounds during playback, specifically

- when switching between tracks

- resuming music from a paused state

- playing through Bluetooth headset (pop is not nearly as loud)

The popping sound does not occur between all tracks that I have downloaded, but appears to happen with specific files (which have been redownloaded with no success to correcting the sound popping).

The pop occurs on both the wired headphones and through the external speaker on the phone. No difference in the pop.

It should be noted that I can recreate the issue on my wife's ATIV S as well. I am using music downloaded through my XBOX music pass. It doesn't matter whether the music is streamed or played from a locally stored file (locally stored files were transferred
from a PC that play the music normally)

is there a solution to this, or is my phone defective?

 

Loud system sounds

Hello.

Problem is that I can't change loudness of the Windows notifications. There is "System sounds" volume mixer, but it doesn't change loudness of Windows tray notifications, and every such notify plays a maximal loud sound! It's annoying.

Step 1: I suggest you to install all the pending updates though Windows updates.

Steps:

• Connect to the internet.
• Press Windows key and type
  updates.
• Click on Check for updates.
• Under Windows Updates, click on
  Check for updates.
• Try to install the updates.

Step 2: Run Audio troubleshooter.

To find and fix problems with playing audio.

Follow the below steps:

• Type troubleshooting in the search bar on the Taskbar.
• Select Troubleshooting.
• Select View all on the top left corner.
• Click on Playing audio.
• Click “Next” and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.
