Windows 10: Low mic volume

I checked Settings > System > Sound > Input > When I speak my mic sounds very quiet on my pc I use a Beacon mic. when I go to Device properties and do a test I found that the highest my volume went to when testing the input the was 28% and most times it was around 15-20%. it's connected properly via USB.The output works fine.The trouble-shooter says the device is working properly.All the drivers are updated. I have gone through control panel and check that the boost level was at it's max.I have gone through device manager and made sure that the drivers were up to date as well as do

Low Mic Volume in Lumia 720

I just bought 720 a week ago...the mic volume is very low and very noisy.,.its really frustrating

Low input volume on an external mic'

For the last few weeks I have been useing an external mic' to make voice recordings. Everytnig has been fine.

Last night, I finished, closed down, changed nothing. This morning,. the inpout volume of the external mic is about 80% less than yersterday. Why ?

I have sp[ent the l;ast two hours going through every possible setting I can find and everything is on "max" or 100%. The trouble shooter us useless and says "no problem found". It is not an issue with the external mic'. I have tried the same with a second
mic' and the same 80% low volume issue is still there.

It simply feels like triggering an external mic' somehow triggers an 80% lowering of the volume.

The built in mic' volume is fine, but the quality is terrible, hence the external mic'.

I suspect this is a Windows SaaS issue and is part of the reason why so called "free" stuff, like Windows, managed by MS as SaaS is shocking. I don't want MS buggering around with my laptop. I have wasted a half day so far on this issue, which should not
be an issue.

Does anybody have a fix ? Please don't ask about updated drivers, or faulty hardware etc, I've checked all this. I have not changed anything between last night and this morning.

 

Low Mic Volume in Windows 11

Hi!
My headphone mic volume is very low on Windows 11. Same mic works perfectly fine on my other laptop with Windows 10.

Also, the issue is only with the 3.5mm jack. Same headphone mic works perfectly fine through USB connection. Have tried the same headphones on 3 laptops with Windows 11 and 3 laptops with Windows 10. The issue is only persistent in the 3 Windows 11 laptops and that too, only through the 3.5mm jack. USB works fine. Whereas for Windows 10 laptops, both 3.5mm jack and USB work perfectly well. The laptops I've tested on are from different manufacturers (HP, Dell, ASUS).

After all this, I am 100% sure this is a Windows 11 issue and not related to i. Laptop brand ii. Headphone iii. Laptop ports.

I have already tried the following steps and nothing works as of now

1) Already ran troubleshooter

2) Already updated all drivers

3) Already increased max volume to 100 and the boost level to max

Need resolution from Microsoft for this issue. Many people are facing this issue.
