Windows 10: Lower resolution games playing in small window?

Discus and support Lower resolution games playing in small window? in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; I was trying to play a game at a lower resolution than is my screens normal resolution 1080p instead of 3072 x 1920 and the game made my entire laptop...     I was trying to play a game at a lower resolution than is my screens normal resolution 1080p instead of 3072 x 1920 and the game made my entire laptop screen into a small window that only took up a a little over a quarter of the screen, with the game playing in an even smaller window that took up a quarter of the first small window, with the rest of the screen black.I've tried hitting F11, Alt + enter, ctrl f, disabling the fullscreen optimizations and not using optimizations for windowed games, as well as running the program in compatibility mode to no luck.
