Windows 10: "lsass.exe" issues on windows 10

Hi,

We are rolling out windows 10 using an MDM and Autopilot. We're relying on Azure AD for authentication.

By and large, it's working brilliantly with a great end user experience however, every so often, after a PC is woken from sleep, it will take near an eternity before the login prompt appears again. This part is truly frustrating because:

a) it tarnishes the experience B) you can't force replicate the issue - it appears to be just "luck of the draw".

We've narrowed it down to "lsass.exe" not playing nicely. Any idea what this does in the context of our environment and more importantly how we might overcome this issue? This is the last big issue for us to stop us from fully rolling this out.

Has anyone else seen this issue (or similar)?

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Sasser worm, lsass

It actually detected a lot, but i believe it was a trojan who was attacking the "lsass" (it was actually from windows, the lsass)

This trojan was located in "C:/Windows/Temp/svchost.exe", i believe it was this.

Avg also detected a Adplugin, but i dont believe it was that.

 

New install Windows 10 (issue solved)

It's good that you're not experiencing any issues. Unfortunately many folks are, a quick Google search will show the same info im offering the OP.

It's basically what I mentioned above, small issues here and there ,but nothing to end your day.. for the most part.

I know it's anecdotal, but for my experience 95% of the time it's perfectly fine. The issues I've run into wouldn't be enough for me to roll back , but they would be enough (had I not installed it yet) ,to avoid it for another couple weeks which is why I'm suggesting it to the OP
