Discus and support M-Audio usb dac not working properly on Windows 11 in Windows 10 Gaming to solve the problem; I have the M-Audio Super dac to connect my PreSonus Eris E4.5 speakers to my pc.It used to work perfectly for 5-6 years.     I have the M-Audio Super dac to connect my PreSonus Eris E4.5 speakers to my pc.It used to work perfectly for 5-6 years. Lately it is not working properly. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Even when it doesn't, it starts working after a while could be a few minutes, could be a few hours without me doing anything.When it works, I can see my device in Device Manager/ Audio Inputs and Outputs as SPDIF OUT BC USB DAC. The same in Sound Settings.When it doesn't work, this is totally missing.I don't have any drivers for this device, my system used to automatically recognize it. And it st

    Schiit Hel usb DAC not recognized

    I have been having similar issues in Windows 11 with my Hel 2, and while it's not pretty the following has worked for me:

    1. Unplug the USB from the computer and flip the DAC power off
    2. Power the DAC back on and wait a minute
    3. Plug the USB back in

    When that fails (and it does sometimes with symptoms of popping/crackling sounds and audio skipping) SHUT DOWN Windows, don't restart do a full power off, power off the DAC, boot Windows back up then power on the DAC. Really irritating, I am certain it's not an issue with the DAC as it works flawlessly on the same computer/USB port in Ubuntu and it only started happening recently after some update.

    usb dac not working overnight

    Just bought myself a all-in-one amplifier with usb dac - Audiolab M-One.

    I used the usb dac for the audio output from my pc. Installed the driver from its official website and the dac worked fine.

    Then it happened that the other day it will show "device descriptor request failed" unless you unplug and plug the usb cable then it will work flawlessly. The problem persists when I switch off my pc for few hours.

    My computer config:

    Ryzen 1700

    Asus TUF Gaming X570-Plus

    16GB ram

    The question was in regards to USB DACs, not storage devices. USB DACs take the digital audio from the OS and through a DAC chip convert it to an analog signal as a pre-amp out or headphone out. This requires USB host / audio driver. It seems the answer
