Windows 10: Mac laptop is Unable to connect to Remote Desktop with WiFi but still able to connect via...

I’m not able to connect to my Remote Desktop using mac wifi it shows connected but dont show the desktop for work a pop up shows you aren’t connected. On same laptop the connection gets established using mobile data and can work. Is this issue with router or any settings required for mac laptop?

Remote Desktop Connection problems


Have you tried Remote Desktop Connection, to connect from your Windows 10 laptop to your Windows 7 desktop? Try it first, post back and tell how it went.

Some additional help because you mentioned you are a remote newbie *Wink. The windows 7 related tutorials from our sister site the Seven Forums:

1. On Windows 7 desktop, set network location to either Home or Work (I recommend Work):

2. On Windows 7 desktop, allow incoming remote connections:

3. On Windows 7 desktop, find out its IP address:

4. On Windows 10 laptop, start the Remote Desktop application and connect to the Windows 7 desktop using the IP address from step 3 above (see Part Three in the tutorial):
   • RDC - Connect Remotely to your Windows 10 PC - Windows 10 Forums
   • Notice that although the tutorial is written for Windows 10, it also applies to Windows 7

Try the above, post back how it went.

 

Mac to Windows Remote Desktop Does Not Work Over Wifi Internet Connection

Hi, I am trying to remotely access my windows laptop from my mac but they do not work when I am on different wifi network for mac and even when mac on guest wifi network.

They do seem to work when both laptops are on same wifi network which is my home wifi network and also when I connect my mac with mobile network hotspot.

1. I have enabled remote access on windows laptop.

2 .I have checked Remote assistance, Remote Desktop & Remote Desktop (Websocket) in windows Defender Firewall for both public and private.

3. I have made windows ip address static

4. I have added that windows static ip address into my router port forwarding 3389 TCP

Remote Desktop Connection from Mac to PC

I need help setting up a remote connection from my Mac to my PC. I've enabled the remote desktop on my PC and I've added my PC to the Microsoft Remote Desktop on my Mac but I cannot get them to connect.
