Windows 10: Mac to Windows Remote Desktop Does Not Work Over Wifi Internet Connection

Hi, I am trying to remotely access my windows laptop from my mac but they do not work when I am on different wifi network for mac and even when mac on guest wifi network.They do seem to work when both laptops are on same wifi network which is my home wifi network and also when I connect my mac with mobile network hotspot. 1. I have enabled remote access on windows laptop.2 .I have checked Remote assistance, Remote Desktop & Remote Desktop Websocket in windows Defender Firewall for both public and private.3. I have made windows ip address static 4. I have added that windows

Remote Desktop Connection problems


Have you tried Remote Desktop Connection, to connect from your Windows 10 laptop to your Windows 7 desktop? Try it first, post back and tell how it went.

Some additional help because you mentioned you are a remote newbie *Wink. The windows 7 related tutorials from our sister site the Seven Forums:

1. On Windows 7 desktop, set network location to either Home or Work (I recommend Work):

2. On Windows 7 desktop, allow incoming remote connections:

3. On Windows 7 desktop, find out its IP address:

4. On Windows 10 laptop, start the Remote Desktop application and connect to the Windows 7 desktop using the IP address from step 3 above (see Part Three in the tutorial):
   • RDC - Connect Remotely to your Windows 10 PC - Windows 10 Forums
   • Notice that although the tutorial is written for Windows 10, it also applies to Windows 7

Try the above, post back how it went.

 

Remote Desktop

Okay guys need some help here before going crazy...
I am trying to setup a remote desktop connection and see exactly what the logged on user is looking at with out going through Windows Remote Desktop.

Since its local network I don't have any password or want to setup a password.

Any suggestions are appreciated

 

Where to download a (MS) Remote Desktop Connection app for Mac OSX 10.7.5 to connect to Windows 10?

Since the default Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection app, only works from OSX 10.9 and higher. I can't seem to find one for my Mac OSX 10.7.5. To connect from a Mac to Windows 10.

Does anyone have a suggestion, what's a good remote desktop app to use and where to download it. E.g. can I find an older version from Microsoft to download somewhere?
