Hello, Alright, this is a long one. I'm surprised I haven't burned my computer down along with my house and everything that I have. This problem has been going on for about 6 weeks, and I rely on my machine for my job. I was working in Cinema 4D, I kept getting crashes on and off for 2 days, then other programs start acting sluggish. I get tired of it. I take it to a computer repair shop. The guy tells me the CPU is bad, cool! I buy a new CPU, Motherboard and M.2 drive. I want a clean, fresh start. So now my specs are below. Ryzen 5900X H80 CPU watercooler ASUS X570 PRO MSI RTX 2080TI 64

Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?

 

Video card driver crashing when playing games

We suggest that you rollback your driver. To do so, kindly follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key + R to open run dialog box.
• In the dialog box window, type devmgmt.msc and hit enter.
• Right click on your video card driver -> Properties ->
  Driver tab and select Rollback driver.

If the issue persists, it could be better to contact the developer of the game.

To have clarity on this issue and guide you accordingly, kindly help us with the following information.

• Is the issue specific to a game or does it occur on all the games?
  
• Is the issue specific to only games or does it occur while playing full screen videos?
  

If the issue occurs while playing videos in full screen, you may want to uninstall and reinstall the video card drivers to see if it helps.

• Right click the Windows icon on the taskbar and choose
  Device manager.
  
• Expand Display Adapters, right click on your video card driver and choose
  Uninstall.
  
• Check the box Delete the driver software for this device.
  
• Reboot the machine for Windows to automatically reinstall the drivers.
  

If the issue is specific to games, it could be a compatibility issue. I suggest you to refer to the article
Make older programs compatible with this version of Windows and run the games
in compatibility mode to see if it helps.



If the issue persists, it could be due to the full screen optimization. As you’ve already updated the drivers, I would suggest you to disable the same and check if it works.

• Open Settings and go to System > Display.
  
• On the right pane, click on the Advanced graphics settings
  hyperlink.
  
• Uncheck Enable fullscreen optimizations
  and exit Settings.
  
• Restart the machine and see if the issue persists.
