    (Macrium Reflect) What WIM version should i use to make my rescue med?


    I'm trying to upgrade Windows 10 from Windows 7. However, I'm scared that my drivers will not be compatible with Windows 10. So, I backed up my boot drive with Macrium Reflect.

    People said that I have to use the Rescue Media to restore my backup image if my drivers happen to be incompatible with Windows 10. However, I don't know which WIM should I use.

    Should I use Windows RE because my backup image is Windows 7? or should I use Windows PE 10 because my OS would be Windows 10 when I try to restore my Windows 7 backup?

    Restoring Windows 10 Image using Macrium Reflect


    In addition to the above. Here's my suggestion in step by step.
    I assume you have Macrium Installed in your current HD and already made a backup copy.
    1. Connect your new HD via USB port and boot up.
    2. Run Macrium, click on Restore tab then select the Backup Image that you made to restore
    3. click on "select a different target disk" then select your new HD as destination

    4. Proceed to restore then Shutdown and disconnect the old HD and replace with the new HD
    5. Boot up with your new HD.
