Windows 10: Mail and Calendar app has quit displaying many of the HTML emails properly

Running Mail Version 16005.14326.20970.0 . About 2 weeks ago it went from everything working to now a large percentage of the HTML emails won't decode. It displays the contents as text rather than translating the code. I have not been able to find where anyone else is having this problem. I've run the Troubleshooter, have not clicked on Update yet, and don't want to do a full Reset and have everything wiped. Any idea what happened?I don't see a Category for this App, so I'm leaving it as Windows 11 since it's default / built-in app.Also, I verified that these same emails display properly on my

By default, M&C app will install an outlook account according to your sign in. I sign into W10 with a non MS account "---@gmail.com" so my default account is listed like this, I can't seem to straighten it out/ delete/change it. Suggestions appreciated.

 

Mail Displays HTML Code In Emails In Mail App

Thank you for the suggestions. I ran the trouble shooter but it found no issues. I also accessed the emails (including the one from which I pasted my sample) via the browser and there was no problem. This means that I can read all emails as web mail
with no problems and also using Windows Live Mail, again with no problems. It seems to only be the Windows 10 mail app that is struggling and showing most of my emails in the sample form, i.e. with the message buried in a mountain of HTML code. Curiously,
of the dozen or so that I have received in the last two days, all display correctly on web mail and on Windows Live Mail but only one, the automated one telling me of your reply, displays correctly in the Win 10 Mail App.

 

Windows 10 Mail app not displaying emails properly


Hi, I'm new to the forums, but I just went to use the Mail app in Windows 10 for the first time and noticed that a lot of my emails are being displayed in a weird way, mostly with images. Most notably with youtube emails:

An entire third of the screen is being used by a single line of text (also some words at the bottom of the email) that should really just be directly beneath the 'YouTube' logo banner.

This problem is exacerbated when the app is made smaller with window mode.
Is this just normal for the Mail app, or is there a way to make emails and images display 'correctly'? I'm not very savvy when it comes to fixing these sorts of things...
