Windows 10: Mail app can't scroll through a hundred emails smoothly

When I grab the scrollbar and drag it with the mouse in the Mail app, the scrollbar lags behind my mouse and the app stutters and freezes like I'm asking it to render Crysis. I have a Core i7 CPU. The Mail app also won't show me older messages, telling me to use search. I went ahead and installed Thunderbird and it can scroll through a few hundred emails without a hitch. Thunderbird also uses less memory. Is this how it's supposed to be or is there something wrong with my setup?

Use OAuth or secure mail key for email apps

I am getting the following notice about using an email which I do. I am using windows 8.1. I don't know the name of the email app that I am using. Do I need to do anything to continue getting my email? Thank you for any help that you can offer.

Access AT&T email through an email app using a secure mail key

If you prefer to use an email app that isn’t compatible with OAuth, you’ll have to create a special code called a secure mail key. You’ll use this secure mail key instead of your AT&T password when you set up an email app.

Email contacts missing

1. If you open Mail app and click the + sign for New mail > type first couple of letters of a contact name > will a list of suggested names appear ?

2. Go to All apps > scroll to P > click People. Is the contact list there ?

 

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)
