Windows 10: Mail app in Windows 10

I use gmail as my email provider, and this was interacting OK with Mail, but recently Mail does not behave as it used to. It will show emails at first, but then a small blue envelope image appears and underneath it says 'Nothing has arrived yet'. Then you might try it again and it will work, but sometimes the App won't even open at all - or will just close when you are trying to see the emails. When I try to change the settings in mail, the accounts are grayed out so I cannot select one to change settings. I then uninstalled and reinstalled Mail but there is no difference. The Mail App worked fine for years with us, no problem at all. The only idea l have as to why it might have changed is that my partner did change our gmail passwords - although for a few days after the password change the Mail App worked fine, and then, it just didn't. We are receiving our emails on our smart phones. We can sign in to Gmail and read our emails, all that is okay. But any ideas how to settle the Mail App down so we can return to using it from the taskbar?

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

I did that to no avail, then I ran WSReset.exe; now I'm good on all 3, Mail, Calendar and People! *Confused
Go figure!
