    I use BT mail on my windows 10 laptop. Recently I started getting a warning banner about auto forwarding on when I sign on to my email. I tried to disable the auto forwarding by unclicking the box but it will not let me save the change because the save button is greyed out.

    Locally, impossible. However, on the server side, it MIGHT be possible - e.g., on Gmail. Of course, you'll need to configure all your mailboxes to auto-forward all the incoming mail.

    Automatic forwarding in free Yahoo Mail to be discontinued

    You should still be able to auto-forward mail to Yahoo, and as I read it auto-forwarding in Yahoo Mail will continue to be allowed if it's set to forward to another Yahoo account. The announcement specifically says it's auto-forwarding to 3rd-party email addresses that's being turned off.

    I suspect Yahoo want to stop you auto-forwarding mail to another 3rd-party provider so you can read your Yahoo mail without seeing the ads in the Yahoo Mail webmail page. It's presumably the ads that make the free Yahoo Mail viable.
