Mail & Calendar won't open after downgrading from Creators Update

    Hi
I recently updated manually my system to the Creators Update. As a result, It made my pc slow so I decided to go back to the previous version through settings. When I did so, everything came back to normal state except for the Mail and Calendar apps which when I click on either of them won't open (I barely see their window frame appears and disappears for 1 second).

I tried lots of methods found on the net but none has solved this problem (PowerShell method, Troubleshooter...). I can't even install any updates fro any app in Windows store (Error).

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Windows 10 Home 64bit (14393.1066)

    :)

Try to reset the apps by going into software and apps finding them in the list, click advanced and then select reset

Hi, as you've had problems running and after rolling back I suggest you first do a couple of disk checks
    - Download and run Hard Disk Sentinel (trial) - it will give you a quick indication for each disk in your PC.
    - If ok, check your file system:

    From an admin command prompt
[Windows key + X, click command prompt (admin)]
    chkdsk C: /F
Your PC will need to restart.
Post back the result, which you can get after a restart as follows:
How do I see the results of a CHKDSK that ran on boot? - Ask Leo!
Make sure the result is clear or fixed- else do not proceed.

If all is ok then you can try other fixes as you wish, but I suspect you may end up doing an in-place upgrade repair install of 1607.

For that you would need a 1607 boot disk or iso compatible with your installation. Do you have one?

Note: regarding slow performance after upgrading:

It is because of such possible issues and to provide an easy recovery route without technical assistance even if your disk fails or is infected by ransomware that we strongly and repeatedly recommend disk imaging. If you've not been using it, when you get this sorted out, I suggest starting. E.g. Macrium Reflect (free) + its boot medium + large external storage for images.
