    Main monitor not detected after waking from sleep/restart


    Recently, my computer has stopped detecting my main monitor a Toshiba TV connected by HDMI and only my second monitor a Dell P2012H connected by DVI after the computer goes to sleep and wakes. If I restart the computer, then it detects the TV. But, the last few times, it did not detect the TV even after restarting. My graphics card is an EVGA GTX 1050, and I removed it and reinstalled it as well as the drivers for the card, and this did not fix the issue completely, as the TV still goes undetected after waking from sleep. I recently ran System File Checker for another issue unrelated to this, and am running it once more as a last resort, but I don't know what to do to fix this.

    Monitor will not wake from sleep

    What display connection are you using

    HDMI

    VGA

    DVI

    Display Port

    You might have to change your wake timers in power settings

    or

    look in your BIOS, as there could be an incorrect settings.

    Disable PLL Overvoltage (ASUS Motherboards)

    Disable Link State Power Management

    Disable Auto-Detect in Monitor Settings

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting your reply. Apologize for the delay in response.

    I suggest you to check which devices are configured to wake up the computer from sleep by following the steps below:

    • Right click on Start icon and select Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Type the command line below:
    Powercfg /devicequery wake_armed

    3. Check if the devices (Keyboard, Mouse, Ethernet cable) are listed.

    If the system is not going to sleep and going to Hybernate, the only option to wake up is to press the Power button.

    Main monitor not detected after waking from sleep/restart

    Using laptop as desktop - can't wake it from sleep with wireless mouse or keyboard.

    • 4. Test waking from Sleep with the monitor connected to the laptop.
    • 5. Disconnect the monitor from the laptop, reboot, then test waking from Sleep without an external monitor.

    No luck with monitor connected. Disconnected the monitor, rebooted, then tested wake-from-sleep with no external monitor - no luck.
