    Maintenance Scheduler Preventing Sleep in Windows 11


    Every time I put my laptop to sleep when plugged into power, it sleeps for 1 second then wakes back up. Running "powercfg /sleepstudy" reveals that it's "PDC Task Client: Maintenance Scheduler" that is waking my computer. The checkbox in Automatic Maintenance to "allow scheduled maintenance to wake my computer" is not checked.The option in power settings to allow wake timers is disabled. Yet, the problem persists. Is there anything else anyone could recommend I try?

    Scheduled Maintenance does NOT run

    I tried your suggestion (disabled all 3rd party SW per the instructions in the link provided. NOTHING changed. Still doesn't wake up from sleep, using either the maintenance function, or a scheduled task.

    Any other suggestions besides a large hammer and buying a MAC?

    Maintenance Scheduler Preventing Sleep in Windows 11

    Random sleeping

    My upgraded W10 machine has several issues NOT solved by MS updates.

    • Randomly goes to sleep.
    • Scheduled maintenance fails
    • Wake up task does NOT run
    Does anyone have a solution to these issues that will work?
