Windows 10: Major drops in internet speeds - PLEASE help

I went from ~400 Megabits per second to ~5. I'm pulling my hair out. My ISP is WOW (Wide Open West) of course there is nothing on their end, no outages, no help offered. I have reset both my modem and router several times.

The only thing that has changed recently was me updating Windows 10 (I didn't notice any internet issues after downloading the updates though.. but now a few days later I'm really worried with these speeds).

I currently have the TP-Link AC1900 Router and the Netgear CM600 Modem I have never "updated drivers" or "checked firmware" etc etc on these devices. Nor on my computer. Seeing as how I've never done it I'm at a loss and would greatly appreciate any information and tips you can offer along with HOW to "check the drivers on your router" etc.

I'm running Windows 10 Version 1909 (OS Build 18363.778)

Again, I really appreciate any help you're able to offer. I'm at a total loss here, and as you can imagine 5 Megabits/second is virtually nothing and my house cannot operate off of it.

New laptop with Wifi Ac and Verizon Qualcomm router major speed drop

Open Settings, then Network & Internet, then Network and Sharing Center. Your WiFi connection will be shown under Active Networks. Click on the "link" for your WiFi connection. What speed is listed under Connection?

 

WIN 10 Creators Upgrade drops my internet speed dramatically

Running Win 10..got pop up saying I needed an upgrade..which took place...after this my internet speed dropped from around 75Mbps to around 1Mbp!..If I roll back to previous version of Win 10 the speed is back...I have had 3 lengthy support calls with microsoft whereby they remote accessed my p.c. and updated drivers etc...but to no avail...I know I have the latest drivers installed now but still if I allow the upgrade to take place my internet speed drops to a crawl..so I continue to roll back to earlier version.I have disabled the upgrade from taking place for now..however I would much prefer to have the upgrade in place...any suggestions? Thanks

Your ISP does not have customer support?

Have you tried connecting the computer directly to the modem and testing again?

1) Power down your computer, modem and router.
2) Connect the computer to the modem directly via an ethernet patch cable.
3) Power on the modem and wait until it fully initializes.
4) Power on the computer and test using:

Internet Speed Test | Fast.com
Speedtest by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test

Report back with your findings.
