Windows 10: Make a USB menu to select which partition you want to boot

I have a USB external drive with 6 partitions I made.It's GPT layout, and each partition has something to boot.Exampleartition 1 has Macrium ReflectPartition 2 Has Acronis True ImagePartition 3 has WIndows 11 RescueetcWhen on my HP and hit esc then F9 what shows is:ST9500420AS 0002ST9500420AS 0002ST9500420AS 0002ST9500420AS 0002ST9500420AS 0002ST9500420AS 0002All works perfect, if I scroll and pick the 3rd entry it boots to the correct item, same for the other items.So there is no problem with the booting the various partitions.Wasn't sure which topic to select.My

Boot up selections, how to delete menu

Hey Guys

I just scored a windows 7 copy and installed it to my HDD on a different partition. Now everytime the computer boots up, I have a menu where I can select win7 or previous OS. I originally had XP on my C: then installed win on a separate partition...

How do I disable that menu and have it to boot up with win 7

Installing windows off of a USB stick

Step By Step from vista:
From admin cmd prompt

1. diskpart
1a. list disk
2. select disk 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
3. clean
4. create partition primary
5. select partition 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
6. active
7. format fs=fat32
8. assign
9. exit

Copy Windows Vista's DVD ROM content to the Flash Drive

xcopy d:\*.* /s/e/f e:\ (d being your vista cd and e being your usb stick)

And that's it, boot off your usb disk

 

confused about selecting boot device


This is good information but I am confused about step 2 below. Wouldn't I need to select whatever device, USB or DVD, the install media is on at this point and not how I want the final install to boot?

It is up to you whether you want to install Windows using MBR or GPT and you need to set the option in the BIOS for MBR or GPT style installation.

Having said that. Here's the steps:

1. Disconnect all HD/SSD except the one you will be installing Windows
2. From the boot menu, Select #1 for GPT or select #2 for MBR to boot up the Windows Installation

   NOTE: The screen is an example and might look different from yours
3. Once the Windows Installation started. On the first screen, Press and hold SHIFT Key + F10, a command Windows will popup then type:
   - diskpart
   - select disk 0
   - Clean
   - Exit
   - Exit
4. Click Next to continue.
5. Select Custom
6. Select the first unallocated partition and click next. Windows will create all needed partitions to install Windows 10
7. Follow all the rest of the instruction to complete.

MBR installation:

1. 500MB System Reserved partition
2. C: Drive

GPT installation:

1. 450MB recovery partition
2. 100MB EFI System Partition
3. 16MB MSR partition
4. C drive.
