  1. Make restore points valid to the user

When I make a RESTORE POINT, I expect it to be there to be used properly by ME.Not deleted without any forwarning. I want to restore my private pc to my restore point. Then I can have the computer in the same condition as when the restore point was made. Then and only then I can install any required updates and re install my recent software. Then I can make a new restore point. Which I expect to be available until next time when I and only I choose to repeat it. But it seems that would be to sensible for for microsoft to facilitate help to effectively protect us from the incremental detritus acc

Restore points are using more space than is allocated?

    Thank you.

    1. 'Disk Space Usage' box clearly states "older restore points will be deleted to make room for new ones" but this is not happening.

    2. Step 1 should have deleted all restore points but Step 2 suggests that it had found "older restore points".

User settings are being ignored by Windows? Maybe a Windows 10 bug?

Not a big problem. Just another annoyance. I'll just have to manually delete RPs from time to time I think.

    Restore points being deleted

This is not a pitch but a valid suggestion of a superior alternative.

    auto restore point

    Hi Bryan,

System Restore automatically creates a restore point before the following events:

    • Application installation (provided the application utilizes an installer that is System Restore compliant). If the application install causes system problems, the user can restore the system to a state before the installation of the application.
    • AutoUpdate installation. AutoUpdate provides an easy way for users to download critical Windows updates. After the update is downloaded, the user can install the update on the system. If the user chooses to install the update, System Restore creates a restore
point before the installation of the update begins.
    • System restore. For example, if a user accidentally chooses the wrong restore point, the user can undo the restore operation by choosing a restore point before the system restore took place. The user can then choose the correct restore point.

    Hope the information helps.
