Windows 10: Make sort by name interpret 0002 < 001 etc

    Make sort by name interpret 0002 < 001 etc


    Good day!

    Is there anyway to get this? I was so sure this was how sort by name really worked but it's not even the case in windows 7. I need to name certain files in the same folder in order 0001, 0002, 0003 and so on and then 001, 002, 003, 004 and so on where 0001-000X is listed first. Now sort by name makes it go 0001, 001, 0002, 002 and so on. I found a way to disable numerical numbering through GPE (Pro tip: Alter File Explorer's default sort - TechRepublic) but it will not work the way I want, e.g. it will make 111 < 22 which will make an ever worse mess.

    The only workaround I can think of is using _001 instead of 0001 but this asymmetry hurts my soul.

    Thankful for any help, I'm no stranger to using the GPE, I just don't know what to look for.

    Web camera not installed after migration from W8.1 to W10

    Samsung i300 as a modem in Vista via cable or bluetooth

    I am looking to connect my HP 2710p with Vista to the Samsung i300 and use it as a modem. I have the cable, and I don't mind using bluetooth. When connecting via bluetooth, i can query the modem, and it recognizes it (SGH-I300 appears in the response column),

    but how do I actually make the computer call out with the phone? I downloaded Samsung's "Internet Access 3.0", but it fails to communicate to the modem. "Failed to communicate with the modem" THanks for the help!

    I'll just let you know that no the sorting you are after is not possible. The way you want it to sort makes no logical sense.

    Leading zeros in numbers have no meaning, they dont change the value of the number unless we are talking about decimals. (Or Octel Numbers) You could put a hundred zeros in front of the number two, but it is still the same value 2. Software works in the logical relam, not irrational human relam.

    I suggest you devise a better naming scheme. Like for example: set#-item#.

    01-00001
    01-00002
    02-0001
    02-0002

    Or whatever.
