Make Windows 10 mail show total number of unread mail for each account

Hi,I would like to make Windows 10 Mail app on computer show the amount of unread mail for each account in all folders and not inbox only. When I receive an email which goes directly in a created folder instead of my inbox because of rules I created on Outlook, the number of unread mails in front of the account doesn't change. It seems like it only shows inbox number of unread mails. Thanks,

    :)

  2. Can the Mail Live Tile simply show the number of unread e-mails?

    Hi,

This Mail Live Tile problem has bugged me for years... Unlike my phone icon which shows a number indicating the number of unread e-mails in my inbox (very straightforward), this Window app seems to insist on showing the number of newly arrived and unread e-mails since I last opened the app.

So I did a little experiment:

If I open one of the newly arrived e-mails with another device (thus making it 'read'), the live tile count will in fact decrease by 1.

But then I open another unread e-mail with that same device, but this e-mail has already arrived last time I used the Windows Mail app (are you still with me?), this time the live tile count remains unchanged.

Very confusing if u ask me. Can I do anything to let the live tile simply show the total number of unread e-mails period?

Windows 10 Mail notification always shows the total number of unread emails instead of...

My computer just automatically upgraded to Windows 10. I'm noticing that Windows 10 Mail handles email notifications differently than Windows 8 Mail did.

With Windows 8 when I opened up mail it would have a number next to each of my email accounts (on the left of the screen) that showed how many new emails I had gotten since the last time I looked at that account. As soon as I clicked on one of the accounts
(on the left of the screen) that number would disappear, regardless of whether or not I clicked and read every single unread email. The next time I opened Microsoft Mail, if there were any new emails since my last visit, the numbered amount would appear next
    to that account.

With Windows 10 mail it's different. It always shows a number next to each account for how many unread emails there are. In order for that number to disappear, I have to go and read every single unread email or mark them all as read.

How can I get the new Windows 10 Mail app to behave like the Windows 8 one did? I want the notification numbers next to each account to just show me how many new emails I've gotten since my last visit. It there a way to do this? Thanks.

Make Windows 10 mail show total number of unread mail for each account

Windows 10 Mail Indicates a Phantom Unread Message

I'm using the simple Windows 10 mail app. Under "Accounts" I have an IMAP mail account and it has no indicator (no number) next to the account name indicating number of unread mails. That makes sense because I have no unread mail in that account. It's a gmail based account, and when I access via the web, there's no unread mail shown there either.

However, when I click on the account and I am looking under Folders, the Inbox items has a "1" indicating there's one unread mail note. I can't find any unread mail in the Inbox. I've closed the program and restarted it, and tried resyncing, but the indicator is still there.

Any ideas on where this "phantom" unread count comes from?
