Windows 10: make Windows 11 photo thumbnails larger than extra large in file explorer

Now using Windows 11. When I open File Explorer to view photo thumbnails and set the view to Extra Large, it is not any larger than when I set the view to Large. The only difference between Large and Extra Large is that the spacing between thumbnails gets larger -- not the photo itself.My laptop is still on Windows 10, and Extra Large view there is much larger than the Large view setting. Can you help?

Extra large icons displaying the same size as large icons in Windows 10 File Explorer- when is this being resolved?

Hello! I've been reading through many threads, dating back to 2017, which report this problem. With two new computers (different brands), I can't get Extra Large thumbnails to display properly in File Explorer in Windows 10 - they are the same size as Large
thumbnails, spread wider apart on the screen. I'm not a tech person, but none of the fixes seem to work. I don't want to make the text or anything else larger, just have the extra large thumbnails fit the space allotted them.

Is this ever going to be fixed? As someone who deals with thousands of photos, it is much easier to scroll through folders with Extra Large thumbnails, than trying peer at the smaller thumbnails. If Microsoft isn't going to fix this, can it at least say?
I don't want to have to use third party software for a basic function.

 

File Explorer not showing Extra large icons

Hi,

The icons might be set to appear in medium or small icons. For you to get extra large icons, follow these steps:

• Open File Explorer.
• Right-click in an empty space and navigate to View > Extra large icons.

Larger than "Extra Large" image thumbnails without lower resolution??

Here's a screenshot in "Extra Large" thumbnail view. Each thumbnail is less than an inch wide to give you some perspective. Ideally I'd like them to be 2-3x larger.





Having to flip through the preview pane just isn't as fast as scanning through things visually when you're dealing with 100+ photos.

Is there no way to fix this in Windows without using third party software and without lowering my resolution?
