    Making Bluetooth phone calls

    Hi,

In windows 7 you could pass phone call audio through your PC via Bluetooth. This seems to have been removed from 10. Has anyone found a work around?

    Thanks

    :)

    N73 Bluetooth problem

You say you can make and receive calls only through your Audi car kit. With my N73 in my car with the Vauxhall bluetooth installation I can only receive phone calls through the cars bluetooth NOT make calls. To make a call I have to use the N73 to access
my phonebook and call list start the call then I can communicate through the cars bluetooth. Why can my cars bluetooth installation work seamlessly with an old Nokia 6310i yet fail with the N73. Nokia must have blocked all external bluetooth access!!!!!!

    Making Bluetooth phone calls

    Hi,

I'm having the same question as yours. I've been googling around and some said it only exist on Pro / Enterprise version of Win 10, which I don't know if that's real or not as I'm having Home Edition.

Also some said it only works with Atheros based BT chipset, again what I've got is Broadcom based and according to my search the driver is a bit of mess and many people claim it isn't working at all.

I'm also hoping for an answer to this as I desperately need this function to work.

    Cheers!

Thanks for the reply. I am running pro and it seems to be missing too. I'm also using a broadcom chip but had no problems on 7. From extensive research it appears to be completely missing for all 10 users. A work around would be great though

after a bit further fiddling I guess the issue is highly related to the driver rather than win 10 (my 2 cents only). I downloaded the latest driver off of broadcom websites and installed it and there are several new "services / virtual devices" appeared on the device manager including the handfree /handset protocol as we as phone book access. Sadly the phone function still isn't there, but instead I got a new function which I can "stream" my sound to the laptop. e.g. I play youtube on my phone the sound will be playback by the laptop speaker which is pretty nice. (it wasn't there using Dell driver which is a bit dated).

  10. To anyone who may be reading this now, this is a software problem with WIDCOMM. It does not support phone audio on Windows 8 or later. Notice how all of the screenshots showing this feature have the Windows 7 style.
I have purchased a CSR based bluetooth device that came with a CSR Harmony software disk and after installing it I was able to use the Hands-Free audio service to use my computer headset with my phone.
The service is a bit limited. There is no interface to place calls from the computer, but once an outbound call has been made from the phone, the Hands-Free interface will work.
Specifically, I purchased the Zexmte Bluetooth 4.0 USB Adapter, able to be found on Amazon.
EDIT: Additional warning: This software is very temperamental. There are certain procedures you have to follow to pair the devices and reconnect them, or the drivers will literally break and the Bluetooth radio will not function until the CSR Harmony software is completely reinstalled.
To pair devices, one must use the CSR Harmony interface. Double click the bluetooth icon in the system tray to open the interface. Click "Add Device" and click the phone option. Use this dialogue to pair the devices. Initializing pairing from the phone has given me severe problems.
On the other hand, once the phone is paired with the computer, subsequent disconnection and reconnection should be done from your phone. Do not use the CSR Harmony interface to connect and disconnect the phone, as this will crash the drivers, requiring re-installation thereof.
One last word of advice: it's a good idea to disable the "Media Audio" service through your phone's bluetooth paired device settings, so that you are not annoyed by the media player that will automatically pop-up upon connection if this setting is enabled.

I made a account just to respond to this. I have been looking for a good year on how to do this. Hopefully this will save some time for any other poor sap out there looking to do the same thing. LOL. I want to make a carputer that runs on Windows 10, one of the biggest problems is/was trying to get my Android phone to make/receive calls and texts. I finally found it in a program/driver called bluesoleil. ( BlueSoleil, the most easy-to-use, innovative and interoperable Bluetooth software, Bluetooth driver
) You can use pretty much any Bluetooth dongle with it. You can make calls and SMS from you computer you can even listen to all your music from your phone. The only downside to it is even tho the drivers/software are very up to date, the software seems very dated. Its in need of a overhaul. It looks like the software was made for windows XP. Other than that, it works perfectly and I haven't had a issue with it yet.
