Windows 10: malfunctioning mouse constantly thinks im pressing a special key, now it swaps my scroll...

hi. ive been using windows 10 for a couple years now, and this is somehow my first annoying problem. you see, my mouse has a issue with it where this special key on it that toggles volume control and actually scrolling for the scroll wheel just breaks for a few minutes and starts doing its own thing. but now, its been stuck for around 2 days where it seems to think that im constantly pressing the button, so it swaps between scrolling and volume every couple of seconds. delivering a new mouse would take a week and ive already tried checking if theres any debris in the way or whatever, there isn

Home key getting pressed randomly and mouse getting scrolled automatically

i have been having an issue where my home key has been being pressed randomly and my mouse has been infinitely scrolling up. These issue both started at the same time about 6 months ago. Ive updated drivers and firmware on both of these, as well as opened
them up and cleaned the affected parts. I know its not a keylogger or some sort of malware as it is only the home key and only scrolling up, it happens are random times, and just stops on its own. I have not tried with another set of peripherals because i
dont own any others. The scrolling happens more ofter than the home key issue (that one hasnt happened in months, but it just started back up again, so thats why im making this) The can happen independently, so i dont think they are connected. Any suggestions?

Mouse scrolles up when im scrolling down

There may be an issue with the driver of your mouse that is why you're encountering difficulties when scrolling. We suggest that you uninstall the driver of your mouse, and then restart the computer to re-install the driver. To do this, follow these steps:

• Right-click the Windows logo (Start button).
• Choose Device Manager.
• On the Device Manager window, double-click Mice and other pointing devices.
• Right click the mouse driver, and then click Uninstall.
• On the prompt window, click the check box and click OK.
• Turn off the computer by pressing the ALT and F4
  buttons together, and then press Enter. Please take note that you may need to press the buttons twice for you to see the window that will allow you to turn off the computer.
  
• After turning off the computer, turn it on after 10 seconds.
• Check if you can scroll properly.

Mouse Scroll Jumps

Hello Nate,

It is possible that the Vertical Scrolling is set to a higher numeric value. To assist you with your concern I would suggest checking the Vertical Scrolling to isolate the issue. Just follow these steps to isolate the issue.

• Press the Windows key and go to Settings.
• Click Devices and go to Mouse.
• Click on Additional mouse options.
• Click on the Wheel tab.
• Put a bullet on Roll the wheel one notch to scroll and change the numeric value to 2 or 3 (Depending on your preference.)
• Click Apply, then OK.

Check if this will resolve the issue.
