  1. Malware False-Positives?

For a while now, I've had my Windows Defender pull up warnings of infections by a "Trojan:Win32/MpTamperBulkExcl.F", affecting "Trojan:Win32/MpTamperBulkExcl.F". I'm concerned, since Defender doesn't seem able to Quarantine/Remove it, and when I try to upload something on Discord or cPanel, they refuse as they claim my uploads have viruses/malware upon them, and I can only assume the issue is correlated. Would anyone know the cause of this infection, and a reliable way to get rid of it?ThanksJake

    :)

  2. database of malware producing false positives or false negatives

Many months ago I communicated with Malwarebytes about a trojan that was detected by Defender that was not detected by Malwarebytes. They indicated that Microsoft Defender is likely a false positive and to wait weeks or months for Microsoft to update their
database. To date the Defender continues to detect a trojan that is not detected by Malwarebytes.

Defender does not detect any malware on quick scans. However on full scans it detects this trojan that is not detected by Malwarebytes.

How does an end user determine whether one antivirus program is producing false positives or false negatives?

  3. database of malware producing false positives or false negatives

Find the file that is detected by WD, then follow the steps at the following site to submit the sample:

Submit A Virus Sample To Microsoft

  4. Malware False-Positives?

    Possible False Positive?

Quite possible that it is a false positive. There are reports of WD Flagging as malware which in turn it is not.
