    Today my laptop screen suggests I restart for an update. However the LAST time I did this, a malware took over my screen, warning that if I tried to log out or restart it would make things worse. How can I know that this time it is safe>Also, I'm on a Windows 10 and the message says it doesn't work for Windows 11. It doesn't have enough RAM or something else. I do NOT want to install Windows 11 on this machine, so this message is irrelevant.Is it safe for me to restart? 09052023 1034 am Pacific Time

    Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

    The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

    Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.
