    Okay, not sure I understand this - how can you run an exe file as admin when you're booting to a rescue environment?

    Sorry, it's the exe that installs everything to the USB.

    The scan gave me an unexepected error right away, but I had attemtped to update (something?) and it said that not all components were updated.

    Which rescue media are you working with now, which gave you an error? Will it run without the update?

    I'm now in Kaspersky 10. Rescue disk wouldn't open on second power up so I'm trying again.

    Edit: rescue disk won't open, maybe the incomplete update messed it up. I may have to create the USB again?

    So, I checked back a while later before falling asleep and it just said "corrupted" in red letters and had stopped the scan.

    Let's move on to Seatools. My previous post:

    I would grab the SeaTools for DOS instruction PDF, and the file download. Probably best to run the Short Test first, and then if it passes, run the Long test. The Long test will be very long.
    @essenbe: any guidelines for the OP on running this? Your input would be appreciated. *Smile Thanks.
