Malwarebytes not set as my default Security Provider

Hi, so Ive noticed that Malwarebytes is not set as a Security provider so does that mean that this whole time Malwarebytes has not actually been scanning for viruses or is it?[Original Title: AntiVirus]

  2. Security Provider

Further to the above I strongly suggest you need to read the guide from malwarebytes
    Windows Security Center (Premium only)
Malwarebytes Premium and Malwarebytes Trial versions register as a security solution on your Windows device by default. If kept enabled, your Windows operating system recognizes Malwarebytes as your security solution. If you run any other anti-virus software, you may need to register that program with Windows Security Center separately.

You need windows security centre as your provider - Defender
the fact that malwarebytes is also running does NOT mean that Windows security is your main security

Additionally if you set malwarebytes or allow it to stay set as your ELAM scan your computer will run slower at startup
You do need to read the guide
I have seen so many problems when malwarebytes has NOT been set correctly
NOT I must stress malware problems, but performance issues

Malwarebytes not set as my default Security Provider

    Security Provider

    Hi,

While Malwarebytes was updating I noticed the Windows Security warning sign appear on the systray. I clicked on it and the 'Security Providers' settings window appeared showing that Malwarebytes was temporarily switched off. (I happened to notice as I was looking at the page, that Windows Defender was on. I took little notice of this.) However, when Malwarebytes finished updating, it forced me to go on the premium version for the limited time. This seems to always happen - which I hate. However, what I also noticed was that when Malwarebytes turned on, Defender turned off. I don't want Mb to run as my antivirus; I want Defender, and to run Malwarebytes when I want to.

However, that's not necessarily the problem. I cannot find the Security Providers page. I have tried to search for it, both through Windows Search and the Settings Search. Nothing comes up. Where can I find it?

    Matt
