    Malwarebytes

I run malware bytes and keep getting "PUP.Optional.Yontoo" twice each run and I cannot delete it or find it in a dearch. I am running A modern HP with Intel Pentum. My defender crashes about 2/3 through probably of those items. Defender quick scan shows
no problem. I am 75 yrs old and slow. Can anyone help me delete those threats?

    Malwarebytes

    No.
In the past, it offered a free version and a paid version
Nowadays, Malwarebytes website offers 2 options :
    A Premium paid version.
    A Trial version.

The OP asks for a link to an outright FREE version instead of a Trial version.

  14. Hi, @Raven2099 (and everyone else):*Smile

Just to clarify a bit: the setup file (aka installer) for all 3 versions of MBAM Consumer (Free, Trial and Premium) is the same.
It is available HERE or HERE.

When one runs the installer, a 14-Day Trial is enabled by default in the setup wizard, unless the user opts out, OR unless the user has already used the Trial for that major program version on that particular system (the current policy is 1 Trial per System per major program version). If the user is not offered the Trial during installation, then it means that the Trial was already used for that program version on that system.

After 14 days, if the application has not been activated with a valid, paid license, the MBAM Consumer Trial will expire and the program will revert to the Free, manual, on-demand version. It can be activated at any time after that, if the user has a valid, paid license. (IOW, normally there is no need to uninstall the Free or Trial version in order to install the Premium version.)

The difference between Free and Premium is that the user activates the program with a valid, paid key in order to unlock the Premium features. These include realtime protection, the automated scheduler and other features.

    HTH,
    MM

  15. Just to add -- here is a screen cap of the step during the setup wizard in which to opt-out of the Trial.

If you got the Trial and don't want it, you can either let it run out, or you can end it at any time. If you do end it, you will not be able to get it back on that particular system until a new major build is released.
