*manage-bde -protectors -add c: -TPMAndPIN* Not letting me type PIN. Keyboard doesn't let me type PIN in. Windows 11 Pro Group Policy editor has been enabled. Require additional authentication at start-up has been enabled.1. I open Cmd Prompt as Admin2. I enter < manage-bde -protectors -add c: -TPMAndPIN 3. I then try to type a PIN and cannot type anything at all for a PIN?

Stop forcing us to use a dang pin.

I think you are referring to BitLocker PIN, here are the steps you can take to remove BitLocker PIN.

You must have administrative rights on your machines to execute this command and this requires a functioning TPM:

1. Right click on the Start Button.
2. Select either Windows PowerShell (Admin) or Command Prompt (Admin).
3. Copy and paste the two commands (get rid of the quotes)
   
   "manage-bde -protectors -delete C: -Type TPMAndPIN"
   
   "manage-bde -protectors -add C: -TPM"
4. Reboot to ensure the PIN is no longer active.

So if i want to change it... just do step 2? Then type the pin?

If i want to delete it... just do step 3?

If i want to do delete it for now...but put it one later on in the future... just do step 3? Then do step 1 right?


The other thing is don't i have to change those edit group policy settings though if i want to delete the bitlocker pin? Thus the disable enhanced pin and disable required startup required with TPM and pin though?

Yes it is easy to change.

You can see what protectors are defined :
manage-bde -protectors -get c:
change the pin :
manage-bde -changepin c:
or delete it :
manage-bde -protectors -delete c: -type tpmandpin

Don't bother writing down the details - you only need the recovery key.
