Windows 10: Manage menu colour for drives and Recycling Bin

Hi all,

I like to personalise everything that is possible to fit a theme and something that has been bugging me are the colours for "Manage" menu that is available in the Recycling Bin and when a drive is selected in My PC. The colours for these menus are magenta and green respectively (see image below), which don't fit the rest of set colour scheme and don't seem to have an option to change them (had a quick check of colour settings in registry as well).



If anyone knows about a way to change this, the answer would be really appreciated, however I believe these colours should be modifiable by the users as well as making "HotTrackingColor" and "Highlight" colours (found in registry under Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Themes\DefaultColors\Standard and Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Colors) to be adjustable in Personalisation settings.

Managing a recycle bin on an external drive

Hi,

Your external hard drive has its own recycle bin folder where the deleted files from it are stored. In order to delete those deleted files, we need to access first the recycle bin folder of the external hard drive. Follow these steps:

• Open File Explorer.
• At the top menu, click View.
• On the right pane, click Options > Change folder and search options.
• In the Folder options window, click the View tab.
• Under the Advanced settings, tick or select Show hidden files, folders, and drives.
• Uncheck Hide protected operating system files.
• Click Apply, then OK.

Once saved, try to access your external hard drive. Its recycle bin should now be visible. You may then open the recycle bin folder and delete the files inside it.

To prevent your files from being deleted from the Recycle Bin, we suggest increasing the maximum file size your Recycle Bin can keep by following the steps below:

• Right click on the Recycle Bin icon.
• Under the Settings for selected location, select Custom size.
• Fill up the box for your allotted maximum file size for your Recycle Bin.

Hi

As I said I know how to do this, but would rather not have to do it.

Plus the deleting part is very onerous as I have to (in no particular order) change the access from 'read only', log in as the administrator, turn off the application that is using the data, then I can delete. Then I have to reset all the settings, as I
want the application (File History) on and I don't want to see protected operating system files.

So yes, I am afraid I do need further help, please
