Windows 10: Manage Multiple Default Printers Based On Availiability

I have two printers and a computer (Giggidy?). Those printers serve two separate usages (one for labels and envelopes only, the other solely on letters).

My problem is that my Default printer is sometimes not available (for the current task at hand) and it is very annoying to manually select to necessary printer because my mind is too focused on work.

My goal is to have my computer automatically detect and use whichever printer that is turned on. I hope that makes sense.

Win 10 changes printer settings if not a default printer

I understand this. My question was a work around that. If you are printing multiple documents and having to go in between label printer and regular printer, setting the printer default manually is an extra step that will not suffice due to it's inefficiency.
Other suggestion?

 

How to disable the "Let Windows Manage my default Printer"

I suggest you to refer to the steps provided below which helps you to disable the Default print management.

• 
  Sign into your account as
  Administrator.
  
• 
  Open Settings, and click/tap on the
  Devices icon.
  
• 
  Click/tap on Printers & scanners on the left side, and turn on (default) or off
  Let Windows manage my default printer for what you want on the right side. (see screenshot below)
  
• 
  When finished, you can close Settings if you like.
  

Once you have turned off this feature, it will get reflected for all the other users.

Windows 10 Sets Last Printer Used As Default Printer

I suggest you to follow the below steps to change the printer settings and check if it helps.

• In the search box, type as “settings”.
• Go to “settings” and select “devices”.
• Click on “printers and scanners” option on the left hand side.
• You will find all your printers listed on the screen, below that there is an option
  “Let Windows manage my default printer”.
• I suggest you to turn “OFF” the option “When turned on, the default printer is the last used printer”.
• Now check whether you can choose the other printers or not.
