offline files acces denied (file name database.xml)

    Hi,

Access issues with offline files can be due to the changes in the configuration of the device and/or the host/server. To better understand your concern, we'd like to know the following:

    • If you're using the Windows Sync Center application to access/manage your offline files.
    • If you're referring to the use of the OneDrive application.
    • If your device is managed by a domain or an organization.
    • The exact error messages that you're getting when accessing the files.
    • The version and build of Windows 10 that you're using on your device. To check this, you can perform the steps posted on this

      link
      .

In the meantime, we'd recommend performing the following steps to verify the status of the offline file access on your device:

    • Search and launch Control Panel using Cortana.
    • In the Search Control Panel box, type offline.
    • Under Sync Center, click Manage offline files.
    • In the Offline Files pop-up window, check if its enabled.

We look forward to your response.

Windows 10 Offline Files Sync Center and Sync Setup and Manage offline files not working.

From the Sync Center in the Control Panel, I see a message "There are no sync partnerships that can be set up on this computer."

When I click on the "Manage offline files" link in the menu, nothing happens....when doing this should bring up the Offline Files settings menu.

Additionaly, Windows Explorer does not display the "Always available offline", "Sync", or "Work offline" from the "Home" "Easy Access" tab when browsing a non-local folder....

This is on a LAN with a couple other Windows 10 PC's with folders shared in a HomeGroup that are not having this issue. I am able to read/write/delete from the PC with the problem. This should also work with external storage but it won't do that either.

The app in the control panel is called "mobsync.exe"

This seems like it could be a registry and or dll issue.

Can't open "Manage offline files in windows 10

I am having the same problem.

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Sync Center

Selecting "Manage Offline Files" does not open the dialogue box. No response whatsoever.

I understand that you must "enable offline files" in this dialogue box before being able to sync folders (Information via - Windows 10 - What is Sync Center and How to Use It - not windows help incidentally as this only has information
relating to Vista which does not apply)

    Windows 10 Home

    Version: 1511

    OS Build: 10586.218
